Topic: BackUp Maker

We have created this help system so that you can use our software with the greatest ease and efficiency. Go to the Product Support topic if you want to find out how to contact the developer and/or other users, in case you have any queries that are not answered here.

Note: Invoking bkmaker.exe with parameters

You have the option of invoking the bkmaker.exe file using parameters if you wish to initiate backup operations from the command line. There is also an option for controlling the visibility of the application window. Here is a list of the available parameters.

Parameter: /start and /exit

The /start parameter allows you to perform operations immediately during the launch of the application. The following example shows how to start the jobs "Job1" and "Job2".

Example: c:\programme\ascomp software\backup maker\bkmaker.exe /start Job1 + Job2

You can combine the /start parameter with the /exit parameter. By appending the /exit parameter to the above example command line, BackUp Maker automatically exits after completing the two jobs.

Example: c:\programme\ascomp software\backup maker\bkmaker.exe /start Job1 + Job2 /exit

Parameter: /visible and /invisible

The /visible and /invisible parameters control the visibility of BackUp Maker's application window. Use the /visible parameter if you want BackUp Maker to be visible on screen. use /invisible if you do not wish the application window to be displayed on screen. The following example illustrates how to start two jobs invisibly. BackUp Maker will exit after executing the jobs (/exit parameter).

Example: c:\programme\ascomp software\backup maker\bkmaker.exe /start /invisible Job1 + Job2 /exit

These parameters may also be used without the /start parameter. You can, for example, set up BackUp Maker in such a way that it is always visible at startup.

Example: c:\programme\ascomp software\backup maker\bkmaker.exe /visible
